Bach for Young Musicians

Three exceptional piano students from Armstrong Community Music School had the unique opportunity to learn Bach’s inventions for harpsichord in the summer of 2019 as part of La Follia’s “Bach for Young Musicians” outreach program. The program allowed the promising young piano students to study privately with Dr. Bradley Bennight, harpsichord lecturer from the University of North Texas, at ACMS. Students then performed works by J. S. Bach on harpsichord prior to La Follia’s September concert.

“We are delighted to partner with the Armstrong Community Music School to provide this unique opportunity for these young students to explore the harpsichord and the music of J.S. Bach," said Keith Womer, Director of La Follia Austin Baroque. "We hope it’s an experience that they will always treasure regardless of their future musical plans."
