La Follia performs two of the "greatest hits" of the Classical Era: the Trumpet Concerto by Haydn and the Jupiter Symphony by Mozart, as well as a violin concerto by the remarkable "black Mozart", Saint-Georges.

The concert features a trio of "Austin firsts":
     1. Haydn's Trumpet Concerto will be performed on keyed trumpet, precursor to the modern valved trumpet, and the instrument for which Haydn wrote his famous concerto.
     2. Mozart's Jupiter Symphony, perhaps his greatest, will be performed on classical period instruments and at Mozart's pitch
     3. A performance of  a violin concerto by the "Black Mozart". Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges, the first classical composer of African descent, a contemporary of Mozart, and a brilliant Renaissance man.

Brian Shaw is featured on the keyed trumpet. Go Yamamoto, concertmaster,  performs as soloist on the Saint-Georges concerto.

They will be accompanied by the full La Follia chamber orchestra, performing on instruments like those used during the time of Mozart and Haydn, The sound is lighter and more graceful in contrast to the louder and somewhat more strident sound of modern instruments
